Year 4 Egyptian Day

Friday 21 October 2016

Year 4 have been learning about the ancient Egyptians through a series of fun activities leading up to their Egyptian Day on the 21st October.

On Egyptian Day the children (and teachers!) came dressed in their best Egyptian costumes and paraded around the school to show them off to the other children. Later, the children had a go of mummifying their soft toys, and interring them in beautifully painted sarcophaguses made out of shoeboxes.

Egyptian Dip

In English we followed instructions about how to make an Egyptian dip and how to play an Egyptian game called ‘Seega’. We really enjoyed working in teams. And most of us thought that the dip was very tasty.

Death Masks

Year 4 have been studying the Egyptians and their treasure. They made these amazing 3D death masks using papier-mâché and collage materials.
