2K Class Assembly - Friday 3rd February 2017

Written on: Thursday 09 February 2017

Shiver me timbers! South Grove was awash with fiercesome pirates on Friday!  The day began with a fantastic fact filled assembly by 2K (or at least we think it was children of 2K) disguised as pesky pirates.  They delivered a fun filled assembly with songs, dance and drama. The pirates gave the audience lots of facts about pirates and life on the sea. They shared their work to design treasure maps, boats and their own pirate paintings.

Throughout the assembly parents, staff and children were surrounded by other pirates within the audience – children from 2F and PLM stood up at the end to show their fabulous costumes.

A huge thank you to all parents who supported their children by making costumes and dressing them up! They all looked fabulous as you can see from the photographs below.  They all had a fun filled day of pirate activities planned with PLM children joining Year 2 for the day.

Everyone at South Grove certainly behaved themselves on this day in fear of having to walk the plank!

Well done to Ms Kiyani, Mrs Patel and the children of 2K for a very packed, confident and polished performance!

Here’s what our parents said:

‘Great assembly! The costumes were amazing too!’

‘Excellent, they all enjoyed it and were so excited. Parents put a lot of effort into the costumes. Good to see them making the pirate ships in the video.’

‘Very good participation from everyone.’

‘Excellent assembly. Well done Year 2.’
