KS1 Commonwealth Games – 23rd June 2022

Written on: Tuesday 19 July 2022

Miss McFarlane and Miss Anderson had the lucky privilege of taking thirty Year 2 children to the Peter May Sports Centre to take part in a Commonwealth Games event. It is linked with the Commonwealth games where lots of different countries compete and take part in several events. We were exactly the same. In total nineteen Primary Schools took part.  The children competed in lots of different fun activities: Athletics, Speed Stacking, Lacrosse, Handball, Orienteering, Rugby, Cricket, Tag Games, Boxing, Golf, Relay races, Archery and Badminton. They had an absolutely, brilliant day.

Here are some quotes to sum up the day:

‘It was an amazing day trying new events.’

‘The Year 5 & 6 helpers who taught the activities were brilliant.’

‘It was a great day but very tiring.’

‘We would love to do this again!’
