Walthamstow Wetlands Competition News

Written on: Friday 14 July 2017

A few weeks ago we were visited by the organisers of the new ‘Walthamstow Wetlands Centre project. As you may remember we watched an assembly about this project and some children entered a competition to design jars for a collaborative sculpture for the new centre’s main foyer.  I am extremely excited to announce that 23 children from South Grove have been chosen as winners and will have their jars displayed alongside winners from other schools.

We are currently busy turning these 2D designs into 3D interpretations in the actual jars. I have included a few finished examples so you can see how much effort the children have put into this project. We can’t wait to see their finished art work in the wetland centre when it opens. Well done to everyone who entered and keep up the fantastic art work.
