Reminder of South Grove Community Engagement Project

We are taking part in a project, alongside the other local primary schools in our Soft Federation, to promote links between our children and elder/retired members of our local community.

The aim is to work in partnership with elders on a variety of projects where children can share, work and engage with them for mutual social benefit, where relationships can be forged, sharing their lives, heritage and illuminating aspects of their identity

We believe that the experience and knowledge of this group can give additional learning opportunities to the children and form positive connections.  The school can offer a regular opportunity to mix and socialize with the younger generation with staff at South Grove.

This will be a lovely opportunity to share books and read, play games and chat with the children. In return refreshments of tea, coffee and cake will be provided.

Sadly, so far we have not been given any names so if families know of somebody who would enjoy this opportunity i.e  grandparents, neighbours, elderly members of the local community that may be isolated, please could nominations, with their permission, be given to the school office. Unfortunately we cannot provide transport to school.

Empowered to explore, inspired to learn
