Children’s Mental Health Week

Whole School Assembly – Children’s Mental Health Week – 3rd – 9th February 2020 - Bravery

Before the Mighty Mentors delivered their assembly on Friday, the Health and Safety Ambassadors presented their Health and Safety Presentation to parents. It was a polished presentation, and clearly the children take their role very seriously. With the help of Ms Doxon, our School Business Manager, the children meet each week to conduct a Health and Safety walk around the school, ensuring that the school site is safe for everyone in the school to be in. With their clipboards they note anything that they feel could cause a hazard, or harm. Each month a class wins the Health and Safety Certificate for the best classroom. Below is their full presentation, with the slides they discussed with the children:

The Mighty Mentors then took the lead on Children's Mental Health Week and helped to present the assembly Friday. During the assembly, we listened to a poem, shared ideas on resilience and what it means to be brave.

Please look on the presentation, and watch the video with your child:

Thank you boys for presenting and sharing this important assembly with South Grove.

The theme of Mental Health Week 2020 is Find Your Brave.

Here is what the parents had to say about the children’s Pupil Voice assembly:

‘Amazing. An overwhelming assembly. Very educative.’

‘It was a fantastic assembly. We’ve got to know all about health and safety and bravery.’

             ‘A very informative assembly

              – great knowledge!’
