Home Learning Links

As part of the school’s commitment to extending children’s learning our Home School Policy has been developed with input from all stakeholders. At South Grove home learning is seen as an extension of the work begun in class learning time and enables children to develop their skills further. It is intended that home learning activities area as open-ended and creative as possible whilst practising key skills that will support progression in their learning.

We have the expectation as part of the Home-School Agreement with parents that they will support their children with their home learning and provide a suitable time and place for this to be completed.

For more information about Home Learning at South Grove, the policy is available below.

Reading - There is an expectation that children will read with an adult at least four times a week and their reading records books signed with a comment.

The reason for this is we want to instil a love of reading with every child and we understand the value of how reading supports the developing of early writing skills and food for the imagination when writing!

Primary Bullying Intervention Training (BIT)

Primary BIT is a Department for Education funded project which provides free support and early intervention anti-bullying training to school professionals and children in Years 4 and 5 in nine London boroughs.
