Teaching Assistant Level 2 - Scale 3 (Point 14-17)

We are looking to recruit experienced Special Education Needs Learning Support Assistants to work as part of a team within the school in our Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Global Delay Provision.  The role will be working 1:1 with a child with Special Educational Needs.  Good communication skills and empathy with children are essential.  Must be willing to deal with a wide range of challenging behaviour, and be able to show patience, resilience and flexibility to respond to the varying demands of the school day and the pupils’ needs.  LSAs must be available to start work at 8.30am for the beginning of the school day.  Experience of working with children on the autistic spectrum would be an advantage.

Good Numeracy and Literacy skills are essential.  It is desirable that applicants hold an NVQ  Level 2/3 certificate for Teaching Assistants or have equivalent qualifications, but is not essential.
