Year 5 Introduction
WECOME TO YEAR 5!
HOME LEARNING RESOURCES FOR USE DURING SCHOOL CLOSURE
Good morning everyone, don't forget to check this page at least once a week to see updates on what you should be working on.
While you're at home, you won't be able to do a full school day of work - that's okay! Make sure you're still reading every day (and taking AR quizzes!), and keeping up your fluency in maths. Try to work through your activities that have been uploaded to the website and google classrooms on your own or if an adult can help you, fantastic.
After reading and maths, keep yourself busy with your own projects or from Easter activity passport- please try any activities that interest you! Try and include some writing every day so you don't fall out of your good writing habits.
Remember, each day you should:
- Read for an hour
- Exercise for an hour
- Write for 40 minutes
- Practise maths for an hour
- Practise grammar and spelling exercises for 30 minutes
- Practice your topic learning
- Focus on Resilience and Wellbeing
- Have fun
- Learning By Questions - How to connect from home
- Your child’s school uses Learning by Questions (LbQ), which is a great way to learn by answering questions and then instantly receiving helpful feedback after every answer to guide learning and build confidence.

From 6.4.20- 17.4.20, it is the Easter holidays! As a result, you will not be following the usual school timetable. We have drafted an Easter Holiday Activity Passport for you and your teachers have also added some fun activities to this page.
Try to complete as many activities as possible. But remember to also have a well-deserved break. Please spend some time looking after your resilience and wellbeing too. There are lots of activities and ideas for this on the website. And keep active, this helps us to remain happy and healthy.
All the best to all of you; may you all stay safe and healthy.
