Year 5 Visit the Royal Courts of Justice

Written on: Tuesday 17 January 2017

Last week, Year 5 had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Royal Courts of Justice and conduct their very own criminal trial.  We took part in the Theatre of Law project which helped us to learn about the rule of law.  We were lucky enough to have a tour of the magnificent building and 5D even got to meet a judge.

‘It was a really exciting trip; I enjoyed taking part in the mock trial and playing the role of the prosecution barrister.  I feel inspired and would like to be a lawyer when I am older.’ Mikey 5M

‘I enjoyed our visit.  It was great acting out a criminal case and I enjoyed playing the defendant Nathaniel.  It was difficult answering the barrister’s questions but I was confident that Nathaniel was innocent.’ Umar 5D.‚Äč

Although we’d love to show you some more pictures to show how much the children really enjoyed the day we were sadly not allowed to take photos inside the court buildings.
