KS1 Cross Country Competition

Written on: Monday 11 October 2021

From Miss McFarlane:

Mrs Monaghan and I had the lucky privilege of taking 8 amazing children to The Leyton Sports Ground to compete in the Key Stage 1 Cross Country Competition. In total 15 Schools participated.

I am very pleased to say Bianca, Zaina, Abigail, Iliana, Tahar, Omer, Abdoulie and Timi represented South Grove superbly! The girls, as an overall team, came 3rd place and the boys, as an overall team, came 2nd. I am also over the moon because Abdoulie came 1st and won a gold medal as an individual runner. Year 2 did South Grove very proud!

From Miss Young:

Tuesday 5th October: a day to remember!  I’m very proud of our KS1 athletes who represented our school marvelously.  I had phone calls and emails from other sports leaders across the borough to tell me all about their successes, determination and overall attitude at the event.  The children now have a new sense of positive attitude towards being active and hopefully, they will use this new mindset to encourage their friends at playtimes and lunchtimes.  Your team photo will be added to the sports shelf in the library as soon as possible.
