HEAD TEACHER’S WELCOME
EXPOWERED TO EXPLORE, INSPIRED TO LEARN….
A very warm welcome to South Grove Primary School. Firstly, let me share that I feel very privileged to be the Head Teacher of a school that is full of happy, well-behaved children who are a pleasure to teach. We have extremely dedicated teaching and support staff who work very hard to provide the best opportunities for all our children in the safe and nurturing school environment. Choosing the right primary school for your child can be one of the hardest decisions you have to make.
COVID-19 UPDATE – MAY 2021
Dear parents and carers,
I trust that you and your families are all safe and well. We have had a good Summer Term so far with all the children and staff remaining well within school and successful in keeping the school and each Year Group Bubble open. So thank you for your support with this.
Following the Government’s recent announcements around the easing of lockdown and the planned route map out of lockdown I write to provide the school community with any relevant updates that I hope you will find useful for over Half-Term and when the children return to school for the second half of the Summer Term.
I attach the Risk Assessment Version 5. The only changes to this document are the new links to the Government Guidance for Schools coronavirus (COVID-19) operational guidance for May 2021. The school will remain the same in all its operational guidance as previously so staggered start and finish times, various entrances, Year Team Bubbles will continue. Staff will continue to wear face coverings during both teaching times and in communal areas where social distancing is difficult.
Below are links to documents that we hope parents/carers will find helpful.
RISK ASSESSMENT – PREVENTING COVID-19 SPREAD IN A SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT (UPDATED MAY 2021)
LETTER FROM PUBLIC HEALTH AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITY (MAY 2021)
COVID-19 TESTING OVER MAY HALF-TERM (MAY 2021)
FREE HOME TEST KITS GUIDANCE (MAY 2021)
We very much look forward to welcoming everyone back and know that everyone will play their part in helping us to return safely to continue the children’s learning journey.
If parents have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to contact the school office or email us on email@example.com
With my Very Best Wishes, Julie Maltwood, Head Teacher
