SEND Ice-Skating @ Lea Valley Ice Centre || December 2023
On Tuesday 5th December, seven very excited children left to take part in an ice-skating festival. We arrived with plenty of time to relax and settle our nerves before putting our ice-skating boots and learning to walk in them. After we found our balance, we were taken through to the competition rink where we had three, highly-qualified instructors, lots of adults and even the center manager had come to support us.
The children were absolutely brilliant and made superb individual progress. Most had never been ice-skating before and struggled to even get onto the ice without extreme support. By the end of our hour session, all children could skate with a mobility aid and some were completely independent!
