Careers Talk

 This week in year 5 as a part of careers week we were very luck to have Rob Watson one of our children's parents come and speak to Year 5 all about being a film producer. Rob talked about the highs and lows of film producing even how he had to cut Star Wars star Daisy Ridley from a film he made locally in Tottenham near the old Ikea! He talked about some of the films he has worked on but mentioned they were a bit of PG and above rating so perhaps later viewing when we are older. Rob had such great a passion for his career and his love of films, television and movies really inspired the kids to talk about the things they liked and did not like in films and just hearing about the amount of hard work that goes into creating one was incredible to hear. Thank you very much to Rob for giving up his time to come and celebrate all careers.

YEAR 5's Take Over Day 2025

 This Friday we had the annual South Grove Take Over Day where the children experienced what day to day life in school was for the adults. But instead of us telling you what happend we think its better the children who experienced the day can tell yout all about it.

Sarah aka Mrs Grant- The start of the day I did the register just like Mrs Grant does! It was really fun because I've never done the register. Then we went to assembly and I sat on a teachers chair, how amazing was that? During the day I taught a Science lesson and I loved helping others and explaining what to do. After I did the spelling test, it was really fun teaching my friends the words etc. I loved supportig peope during the day and I loved being Mrs Grant!

Aniya aka Mrs Sharma- It was an amaizng day to see people dressed up as our favourite teachers. I love the tradition and it makes the school so unique and I am exctied to do it next year. Mrs Sharma has a lovely job and I was able to mark spelling work and give support to different people in class.

Anayah aka Mr Andrews- Today at school I got to be Mr Andrews! It was really fun and I loved doing the register and doing a Science quiz with the class. This was a really good experience!

Ida aka Ms Fowler- Today at school I got to be Ms Fowler. It was a really fun experience because I got to flip the slides on the powerpoint. I am really happy I got this job!

 
The career dress up outfits were fantastic to see doctors, scientist, fashion deisigners and teachers oh my!I don't know about you but I think the children had a fantastic day!
