Year 3 explore chocolate!

Yr3 -- Week 10 -- March 2025

 This week has been full of exciting activities for Year 3!
We had a careers talk from Mr. Tapper, who introduced the children to the world of graphic design. He shared a wonderful presentation showcasing some of his incredible designs and answered an exhaustive list of questions from the children. We are very grateful for his visit, and I'm sure the children were left feeling inspired.
On Thursday, we welcomed a visitor from the Chocolate Museum. The children learned about the history of chocolate and the Mayans’ role in its development. They also used their problem-solving skills to decipher Mayan maths, discovering how the Mayans created a number system using dots and dashes.
Following this, we enjoyed a chocolate tasting session, where we had to guess the citrus fruits and spices used in different chocolates. The children also had the opportunity to use cocoa butter and learn about its moisturizing benefits.
To round off the week, we celebrated Red Nose Day on Friday.
